Another Scrapbooks.com Project...

Yet again, just a quick post of another project.

I sure wish time grew on trees!

This layout is about a block party we had on our street for the Forth of July a couple of years ago. The kids all decorated their Bikes/Scooters and had a Bike Parade. We followed that with lots of homemade treats and then fireworks. It was a lot of fun and really helped all the neighbors to get to know each other even better than before. This was really nice when hurricane Ike came along as we already knew each other well and everyone was checking on each other to be sure everyone was okay, sharing supplies and resources, and visiting with each other while we waited for the power to come back on and the flooding to recede. I'm convinced we live on the best street in our neighborhood and I hope no one plans on moving away--because we sure don't!

Anyhow, here is the layout:

The papers here are by We R Memory Keepers, the buttons by Fancy Pants, Letters by Cosmo Cricket and Jillybean Soup and rhinestones by Queen and Co.

I'll have another 4th of July project (some wall decor this time) to share in a few days so be sure and stop by again!

Quick Project Share Today

I only have a minute this morning, but I wanted to stop neglecting my blog, so here is one of my new projects for scrapbooks.com this month. It is that frame I showed you from a few months ago--I decided to use it to showcase our blue bonnet photos each year that we take them--so the design is simple--allowing me to change out the photos from year to year--however, despite it's simplicity, I am very pleased with how it turned out :)

For now it has last year's photos--I still need to have this year's printed!

Anyhow, have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

The End of the School Year and One More Digital Layout...

...for now, then I'll get back to paper scrapbooking :) This one is about what a sweet little cuddler Spencer is and how much I enjoy it when he climbs up on my lap just for a chance to be close to me. Ty and Blake didn't really do that much, but Spencer does it all the time-his favorite is climbing in bed with me when it is time to wake up in the morning and snuggling under the covers. This is one of my secret guilty pleasures that I indulge him in. :)

Just about everything on this layout is from PageMap's free digital kit, Flutter; which can be found by clicking here.

We have been having a lot of fun this past week with a variety of summer time and end of school year activities. Last weekend we got together at my parents house to enjoy each other's company while Mom and Marc made his famous salsa with fresh ingredients from her fabulous garden.

They canned several jars of this wonderful concoction so we can enjoy it all summer long :)

I also went in to school on Wednesday to have 1 last lunch with Ty as a second grader. He was happy to see me and the giant hot dog I brought him! As soon as he was finished with it though he wanted to get back to his friends as he only had a couple of days left with them. Particularly with Anthony, who we recently found out is moving...  :(  Anthony and Ty met in Kindergarten and have been good friends ever since. Ty is certainly going to miss him. Thankfully his other buddy Tristan sounds like he is staying put.

We took a few photos with Ty and his classmates. Many of his classmates have been in Ty's class since Kindergarten and they have become quite close. I think overall it was a very good year for him. He is still struggling with his reading, but continues to make progress and we are very proud that he has come as far as he has this year.

After school on the last day of the year we had a neighborhood swimming party with several of Ty and Blake's neighborhood friends. They had a great time and I'm convinced we live on the best street in our subdivision. We have such great neighbors! We are talking about having block parties with our street throughout the summer...should be fun!

Anyhow, as always, thanks for stopping by--and have a great afternoon!

Would You Like An Easier Way To Do Digital Scrapbooking?

Here is a little look at a digi layout I did this morning. It was created with Creative Memories digital scrapbooking software and artwork which I have recently fallen in love with! I've dabbled in digi before, but always found it time consuming and difficult to understand how to do some of the more basic things--let alone how to do more complicated stuff--like add that scalloped edged border at the bottom of my page. Then about 2-3 months ago I had the opportunity to play with Creative Memories StoryBook Creator+ 3.0 software and I was amazed at how user friendly it was. Right from the moment I installed it I was up and designing. It didn't take more than a few hours to really learn this program well and figure out how everything worked. There is an easy and intuitive way to do so many things. For example, aranging things on my page used to frustrate me as things never seemed perfectly lined up or evenly spaced--not anymore, a click of a button takes care of that for me now!  And that is just one example out of many features I love. Within a day of playing with this software I was hooked. I ordered a copy of the software for my Mom for Mother's Day and I plan on ordering more for other gifts.

You will certainly be seeing more digital scrapbooking out of me thanks to this! But never fear--I'll never jump ship to just digital scrapbooking--I like the feel of touching actual paper far to much. For proof here is another of my May layouts for scrapbook.com:

Now I have to run, we are getting ready for a last day of school party!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!
