Queen and Company Holiday Tree Shaker Card Kit

Today I'm sharing all the cards I made with Queen and Company's new Holiday Tree Shaker Card Kit. This awesome kit is a great way to quickly make a bunch of Christmas shaker cards. You can make them all the same or put a different spin on each, as I did with my example cards.

The kits include all the cards, foam, acetate covers, tree die, shaker beads, embellishments, tags, and even the sentiment stickers for six cards. All you need to add is whatever color cardstock or patterned paper you want. I used all cardstock to keep this cards classic and clean looking, but patterned paper would also look great!

Here are the six cards I made with the kit. Again, all I added was a small amount of cardstock that I die cut with the included tree die.

This one stayed traditional with a classic green and red.

I love the mix of red and blue, so these two cards played up that color mix in opposite ways.

Another couple of more traditional colored cards with red and silver/white and small green accents. The red tree is one of my favorite from this set of cards.

And last, my favorite card of the bunch, this peppermint inspired pink tree card!

You can check out this kit over on the Queen and Company Web Site.

How To Make Cute Fruit Shaker Cards?

How To Make Cute Fruit Shaker Cards? Use the new Queen and Company Fruit Basket Shaker Kit!

I am so excited this kit has finally been released! This kit has been in the works for quite some time, in fact, I created some cards almost exactly a year ago when we first started exploring the ideas that began to bring this kit to be!
Each of the foam shapes in the kit are self-adhesive, making them easy to stick down on your project, then to fill with the adorable mini fruits. The matching acetate covers are also included which is an awesome time saver!

It was a huge pleasure to design the papers for this kit! Fruit gives you so many fun options for designing! I think the apple/strawberry/flower paper is my personal favorite.

The fruit shapes made coming up with matching sentiment stickers extra fun...I'm quite proud of how these turned out!

So far I've created a handful of cards with this kit, but I can't wait to create lots more! Enjoy a closer look at the six cards I made as soon as the kit was in my hands!

A Birthday Layout With Shaker Embellishments!

Here's a closer look at one of the projects I made from the Queen and Company Pretty Presents Kit! It's a layout with photos from Claire's first birthday. The day after her birthday all she wanted to do was to play with the balloons and wrappings from her presents instead of all the cool new toys she received!

These are more of the papers I designed for this kit and some of the stamps I designed as well! The presents are tiny shaker boxes willed with fake sprinkles and miniature gift boys that shake around inside!

Super Hero Father's Day Shakers Cards

I Just finished up some Father's Day cards for the special Dad's in my life! I'm excited to give them away tomorrow! (And I think I'm completely addicted to shaker cards now. I rarely make a card that isn't a shaker anymore, shakers are just too much fun!)

This card was fast and easy thanks to Queen and Company's Sunburst Foam Card Kit. You just expose the adhesive on the foam, stick it down to the front of our cad, then fill it with any of their awesome toppings. I filled this one with blue Bubbles, Diamonds, and Fimo stars. The top of the foam is also self adhesive and the kit includes an acetate cover that you just stick down on top. So simple!

I added a die cut banner and star as well ass some foam letters to spell out "DAD." Additionally I embellished the front of the shaker with some red Lollies, red and blue Pearls, and white and blue Pinwheels.

This "Super Dad" card was created by using the diamond cut from the Cricut Once Upon A Princess cartridge and layering two different sized diamonds together to create a frame. Then I cut out the shape 10 times and glued each layer together to get enough height for the shaker. Inside the shaker are more blue Bubbles and some lighter blue Diamonds. It's fun to watch them roll around in there as you move the card!

Again, there are some red Lollies, red and blue Pearls, red Twine, and Fimo Stars as embellishments outside the shaker.

Hopefully the super guys in my live will love them!

Thanks for visiting and Happy Father's Day!

Birthday Card Eye Candy

Another new kit that I contributed to with a patterned paper pad and stamp set launched recently! It's the Pretty Presents Kit by Queen and Company, which is just perfect for any gift giving occasion from birthday to wedding and everything in between! The cute little present dies can be used on their own or to make these incredibly cute shaker embellishments. The kit includes adorable fake sprinkles and tiny gift bows in different colors for a really cute and unique look inside your shakers!

I envisioned making lots of birthday cards when I designed the papers for the Pretty Presents Kit! This card is possibly my favorite card I've made with the kit so far. In addition to the cute shaker supplies from the kit I added some Opals and Lollies to up the "candy" look I was going for.

I'm excited to share more of my projects with this kit in the coming days!

Shakers Are Not Just For Cards

Ever since Queen and Company came out with their awesome (and super easy) shaker products last year I've been using them on practically every card I make! I love the fun, interactive element they add as well as the dimension and how, when I give my cards away the recipients have fun shaking and playing with them! I also love adding them to my layouts!

I created this layout as one of the National Scrapbook Day inspiration pieces over on the Queen and Company Facebook Page for the sketch challenge. It's all about how when Claire was two she had a phase where she was kind of crazy about this hat! One day she wore it pretty much all day long and I happened to remember to take a few photos of her cuteness. :) She seems so little to me in these photos even though it was only two years ago. I used more of the papers and stickers I designed for Queen and Co. plus lots of Queen and Co. embellishments and a fun flower shaker which is filled with these amazing tiny diamonds and tiny pink flowers!

Here is the sketch from the challenge.

New Release Projects

Today I just wanted to share a few cards made with some of the newest products from Queen and Company. This first card was designed to feature one of my favorite new releases, Sparklers! These pretty flowers with sparkly centers come in eight different colors. The purple ones were really speaking to me so I designed this wreath card with 10 flowers from the purple set. There are also a bunch of purple Posies mixed in and some purple Sparkle String tied across the center of the card and I embossed the white background with a Cuttlebug damask folder.

This card was made using the new Paw Print Foam Front Card. I filled the cavities with a mixture of Star and Bubbles Toppings in blue, yellow, and green. As a mom with several boys those stars are some of favorites of the new Toppings! Tag is a die from My Favorite Things.

And lastly this card was created to feature the new Iridescent Flowers. The photos really don't do these flowers justice. They have this amazing and beautiful sparkle in person. I used a mixture of citrus colored flowers and Opals along the side of the card and tied the front with orange Baker's Twine. That little tag is another die from My Favorite Things and the embossing folder is a Cuttlebug folder called Forest. The tag is also a die from My Favorite Things.

Creating A Layout With Patterned Papers I Designed

Last summer I took on the challenge to see if I could learn how to design patterned papers. I had been playing around with the idea for about a year but never got serious about it until Queen and Company decided to add patterned papers their amazing and adorable shaker kits. I dove into teaching myself how to use Inkscape and Adobe Illustrator and learned all kinds of things about designing I never knew before. My first collection was lots of fun as I was given the chance to design anything I wanted to. That collection was called Picture Perfect and was sold with the Camera Shaker Card kit. I loved working with it! I created several cards and a layout with it...and it was a huge thrill to be working with patterns I dreamed up first in my head, then on screen, and finally on actual paper! After that collection came a super cute and fun Christmas line called Christmas Cheer...and then finally a few weeks back my third collection, Heart Throb, was introduced as part of the Heart Throb Shaker Kit. It's my favorite of the three that have been released. The colors are so bright and cheerful and fun with patterns that are playful and sweet without being too pastel or boring. I like energy and a vibe of playfulness in my papers!

In fact I really like those same vibes in my layouts as well! So, as you can imagine putting together this layout about my daughter's love of eclectic dress up outfits with the Heart Throb papers was really enjoyable!

I loved the papers so much I worked hard to get as many of the different papers on the layout as I could without overwhelming it. I think I fit in eight or nine different patterns out of the twelve in the collection. I cut out my title on my Cameo as I wanted it to be big and eye catching since it was an important start to the layout's story.

The heart shaped foam in the kit makes creating shakers so amazingly simple and easy. I think I made this one in less than two minutes and added it to my page as a playful focal point embellishment. Aren't the heart and flower shaped Toppings from the kit inside the shaker the cutest? I just love them! So far I've made 4 cards and a layout from my kit and I can't wait to make more!

Thinking of You Shaker Card

I have another shaker card to share today made with Queen and Company's Heart Throb Shaker Card Kit. For this card I really wanted to show off the papers that I had so much fun designing so I picked out a few of my favorites and cut them into strips and added them diagonally across the card front. That was a quick and easy way to have a lot of different patterns all on one card without overwhelming it and making it look cluttered.

Here is the entire 6x6 Paper Pad for this line. I can't help but be pretty proud of it! (And yes, you can purchase it individually if your'e not interested in the whole kit.)

The shaker heart was easy and simple to put together! Just peel off the liner from the foam heart. Stick it down on some pink card stock, fill with the included and adorable little hearts, diamonds, and flowers, peel off the liner on the other side of the foam heart and add the pre-cut acetate cover. Then I ran the stitched heart die through my Cuttlebug and glued the heart frame to the front of the shaker. The whole shaker took me only two minutes to make!  The included hello die and stickers also made adding my sentiment super fast and easy! I cut the hello out  a  few times and glued them together for extra dimension.

Look how cute the tiny heart and flower Topping are inside the card! These are my favorite of Queen and Company's new Toppings.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Queen and Company

I feel bad having neglected my blog this long. I'm sure there are many people out there who think I may have stopped paper crafting and scrapbooking...truth is though that making cards, layouts, and designing products for Queen and Company along with being the president of our ward's Relief Society at church has kept me so busy that a few things like blogging have had to take a back seat for a bit. I still make cards and layouts almost every day though so I'm going to make an effort to try a do better job at showcasing some of my favorite projects here.

One of my favorite new experiences recently has been to design paper pads and stickers for Queen and Company's new Shaker Card kits! I've been able to design 7 collections so far and it is by far the most fun I've ever had designing! Today is the launch of the latest kit,
In this kit I was able to design the papers, stickers, and line art for the word dies and acrylic shapes.

The kit is chalk full of amazing new items like the tiny heart and flower shaker elements that are just so stinking cute! The included dies make it very easy to customize your shakers or sentiments with any color  or pattern you like.

If you are new to shaker cards, or just new to the way Queen and Company has revolutionized shaker cards you should know that they are super easy to make thanks to the self adhesive foam shapes included in each kit. Simply pull off the liner, stick down your foam, fill with fun shaker toppings, remove the second liner and cover with the clear acetate cover. Done!
If you want you can then die cut a paper cover for your shaker with the included dies. In this kit there is a super adorable stitched heart die that really adds the perfect final touch to the shakers.

Kit contents:

6 heart foam pop up shapes & acetate covers

4 metal dies (1 heart shape and 3 sentiments)

1  6 x 6 paper pad

1 Sentiment sticker sheet

3 acrylic sentiments

1 sheet of enamel dots

8 different shaker toppings

Just look at all these amazing tiny flowers and hearts! Incredible! Pulse there are some clear diamonds for adding a touch of sparkle!

These new acrylic words are so pretty and add the perfect touch of dimension!
I have created four cards so far with this kit and they were amazingly fun and easy to make!
