Pink Lemonade Pie With Cricut Cut Gum Paste Flowers

Recently I had the chance to play with my Cricut Cake Machine to make some gum paste flowers. It was really fun and I loved how easy it was to make some really lovely decorations for this pink lemonade pie.

After a small amount of learning and figuring out the best way to cut the gum paste, I found that works really well in the Cake Machine. The flowers cut really well and even the tiny scallops in the center cut beautifully.

I found the recipe for this yummy pie on Pinterest and I can highly recommend it! You can find the recipe by clicking here.

If you hop over to today's post on the Cricut blog you can learn a lot more about the process, read some tips and tricks, and see more photos.

New Cricut Father's Day Cartridges

Yesterday Cricut announced their new Cricut Craft Room Exclusives, Father’s Day Fan Club. There are lots of great Father's Day images in these sets. I had the chance to design with two of these sets and really enjoyed them. I made several cards. One is up on the circle blog so I can't share that today, but here are the others, made with the Best Dad Ever Set and some of the fabulous Echo Park This and That line.

Here are all the cuts from the images sets:

Show your dad how much you love him with the Father’s Day Fan Club digital images! This set includes layered phrases: Happy Father’s Day, Dad Fan Club, You’re Our Hero, Dad, #1 Dad, andFather’s Day.

There are lots more projects made with these sets over on the Cricut blog. Be sure and hop over there to see what the other designers did with these sets! Some seriously cute stuff!

Such A Happy Baby

When Spencer was a baby he was just full of smiles and grins! He was always happy to get even the smallest amount of attention from anyone and I often called him my ray of sunshine as he was always so happy. Even now he is almost always in a very good mood and I consider him one of the happiest little boys out there. He just has a very cheerful disposition. About the only time he gets upset is when he is told that he can't do something. Then we do have a bit of a meltdown, but they are typically very short lived.

He was about 9 months old in these photos of him in his stroller and I love that he was even happy being strapped in his stroller when he might have preferred to be out and on the move.

I used the new Baby Boy line by Bella Blvd for this layout. The moment I saw photos of this line from CHA winter I knew it was going to be a must have even though my "baby boy" was five. As I don't scrapbook in any real order I still have a few random baby photos--like these to get to.

This layout also uses some of the awesome new Queen and Company "Goosebumps" bling and their baker's twine. Additionally, I used my Cricut to cut the hexagons and stars with the My Quiet Book Cartridge.

I'll have another layout with this line to show soon! Have a great day!

Old Fashioned Fun

As I mentioned yesterday, I have another layout of Spencer's favorites from Nauvoo to share today. Like Blake, Spencer really loved this children's play area, though he spent most of his time running between the various sawhorses for "rides." He loved climbing up and down on them and pretending that they were real.

I put my circle punches to good use on this layout. I have always loved the looked of off center smaller circles punched inside larger ones.

I loved this set of Thickers from American Crafts. The font was a good match for the old fashioned feel of this layout, and made the title stand out well.

The buttons on here and the very cool "Goosebump" bling are by Queen and Company, and as I said yesterday the papers are the Double Dutch line by Lilly Bee.

Pioneer Boy At Play.....

A couple of summer's ago we had the chance to visit Nauvoo. It was one of the highlights of our trip and one of the boys favorite stops along our three week tour up the east coast and then back to Texas. On their favorite day there we spent a good amount of time in the Children's area where the boys each dressed up in "pioneer" clothes and learned all about pioneer toys and games. All three of them had a blast and did not want to leave. This layout is about some of Blake's favorites from that experience.

The papers here are from Lilly Bee's Double Dutch collection. I thought the colors and the slightly homespun feel of this line was perfect for these photos.

I cut the red titles on my Cricut, using the Creative Memories This and That Cartridge, the little star burst punch is also by Creative Memories.

The Baker's twine is by Queen and Company, the wood pieces, tags, and stars are by Studio Calico, buttons by Basic Grey.

I have another layout using this line with photos of Spencer's favorites in Nauvoo to show tomorrow. Until then happy Monday everyone!

Paper Purses

I few months ago I had the chance to create these paper purses for the Cricut Circle blog. They were really fun to make and I love how cute they came out. They could easily fit lots of fun goodies inside, so I'm keeping this as a possible future idea for a Young Women handout at church (assuming I feel up to making 20 of these). Maybe even as a girls camp treat for the girls' mailboxes at camp--we will see.

The purse cut for these can be found on the Forever Young Cartridge and the flower cuts come from the Flower Shoppe Cartridge. The paper and ink are by Creative Memories, lace by Melissa Frances, Ribbon by Chatterbox, baker's twine by Stampin' Up, and the buttons by SEI and Basic Grey.

Happy Graduation!

Good morning everyone! Sorry for the lack of blog posts last week, it was a crazy busy week with a bunch of assignments due. That left little time for blogging, but I'm back today and ready to end the dry spell.

One of my recent assignments was a graduation project for the Cricut Blog which went live today. I had a lot of fun using several different cartridges (Paper Doll Teen Scene, My Quiet Book, and New Year's Eve 2012), some fun Bella Blvd papers, and some of Queen and Company's new and amazing Washi Tapes.

I used my Cuttlebug to add some dimension to her hair and the bottom of her gown.

There are more details about this project and about lots of other great Cricut graduation projects over on the Cricut Blog. Be sure and hop over there to see some other really great and inspiring projects!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Cricut Flowers

I have a quick share of a project I did with the new Cricut Craft Room™ Exclusive, Mother’s Day Corsage. It was really fun to play with and I loved how the flowers turned out! They were fairly easy to assemble and with the help of hot glue, fairly fast too!

I used some of my favorite My Mind's Eye papers from their Quite Contrary line. They were the perfect dusty rose color for my flowers.

There are lots more wonderful Mother's Day Digital Cartridges up on the Cricut blog, so be sure to hop over there and see all the other beautiful projects!

Thanks again for visiting and have a great weekend!

I Think You're Amazing

Blake builds some of the most amazing things. He has both a great imagination and a great skills for bring the things he imagines to life. Recently he amazed us with this motorcycle he built out of connector blocks. It even had moving wheels!

This is more of the very fun Echo Park This and That line and the journaling reads: "You constantly amaze me Blake! The things you think up to build are always so cool and well done! On this day you built a motorcycle from connector blocks that Grandma Williams sent you for Christmas a while ago. I think it turned out fantastic and of course, I had to take a photo of it! Spring 2012"

Happy Monday Everyone!

Birthday Bash

Birthday's are one of the events I don't always scrapbook right away. In fact I have many of Ty and Blake's birthday photos from years ago that are still waiting to be printed. Spencer, I guess is just lucky as I have always gotten to his relatively quickly--and I have them all done! This layout for Scrapbook.com is about his latest birthday.

The collection is Bazzill Dino-Mite again, and the journaling reads: "For your 5th Birthday Spencer we planned a lot of fun things! We started out with an early celebration with a lunch of your favorite things (hot dogs and french fries) with ice cream and gluten free chocolate cookies for your dessert. You really enjoyed opening your presents (which included a lot of Thomas the Train components) and blowing out your candles! After we finished opening all the presents we packed up and drove to Galveston to spend a night in a hotel there and check out the festival of lights at Moody Gardens. You seemed to really like looking at all the lights and holding your grandparents hands as we walked through the lighted spectacle! Dec. ‘11"

Have a great weekend!

Swimming and Playing in Lake Mud

We had a really great time camping with family at Cleburne State Park over spring break. We hiked, roasted marshmallows (and peeps), cooked meals in the dutch oven, attempted fishing, played at the playground, tossed horseshoes, and swam in the cold and slightly muddy lake.  It was great to be able to visit and spend time together! This layout is from our afternoon at the "beach" down at the lake, and uses one of Echo Park's new lines, "This and That--Charming."

The journaling reads: "One of the best parts of our camping trip was spending time down by the beach at the lake. The water was a little bit on the cold side, but that didn't stop you boys from having a great time swimming and playing in the sand with your cousins. In fact together you all built quite an intricate sandcastle and moat system! What fun! Spring Break, March 2012"

All His Favorite Toys

Most of Spencer's favorite toys seem to come from Pixar movies! Lately he has been obsessed with everything to do with "Cars" and "Toy Story." He has a pretty good sized collection of figures from these movies and  I typically see him having a good time in pretend play with them. Last month, I walked into the family room to find himself happily piling each and every one of them on top of his legs. It was a very funny sight, so I, of course, grabbed the camera and took some photos.

I used this cute and new collection called "Dino-Mite" by Bazzil to scrapbook this page for my March Scrapbook.com assignment. I loved the colors and all the dinosaur references in this line! It made me wish it had come out when Ty was about this age and completely obsessed with everything to do with dinosaurs. It would have been great to scrapbook some of his playtime as well.
The banner on this page was made by folding large and small circles over some baker's twine. and then "hanging" the twine across the page.

Thanks for stopping by today!
