More Layouts...

Here are my other 2 layouts for scrapbooks.com for February. This first one is about Ty, and how we skipped over training wheels and went straight to the "big boy" bike. It took him about a month to learn and it was a bit difficult at times, but I was so proud of him once he did :)
As always--just click to see them larger and read the journaling.

This one didn't scan as well as I would have liked as those buttons made things kind of lumpy--however I had a lot of fun with these photos from a few years back of Spencer. He had just started the stage of putting everything inside of things. We were always finding things in odd places for awhile :)

Have a great day!

38 Sketches

If you have been following my blog for the past year or more then you know I occasionally did sketches for various places. Well I've now combined them all onto a seperate page of my blog. They now have their own place where they can all be easy to find. Just click on the "Sketches" link on the left under my picture and you can take a look at all 38. I will be adding more every few weeks, so keep checking back!

Here is a peek at one of them :)

Have a great day!

2 New KMA Layouts For Feburary

Wow! This has been a super busy but fun weekend! Last night my husband, mom, and dad joined some friends from church for a barn dance and stop at Dairy Queen afterwards. This was our Valentine's celebration and we had a lot of fun on our double date. We danced to songs I haven't danced to in years and today my legs are certainly feeling it!
Of course that could also have a lot to do with the roller skating we did as a family on Friday night. We got the boys roller skates for Christmas--and although they have loved riding around the neighborhood on them--taking them to the rink was a special treat. Ty and Blake really loved it and skated non-stop for an hour. Spencer wasn't as big a fan but tolerated if for a few slow trips around the rink. He spent the rest of the time having a blast pushing all the buttons on every arcade game. Over all it was a great time!
Also this weekend I finished up all those layouts for Queen and Co I mentioned earlier and my monthly assignments for scrapbooks.com. The first one is loosely based on a sketch I saw on the Cosmo Cricket blog. It just seemed a perfect sketch for this layout about Ty entering the second grade, and it uses their papers from one of my favorites lines of Cosmo Cricket's "The Boyfriend."

And here is another one using these same papers about Spencer and how much he has always wanted to tag along with his brothers. Being the youngest he sometimes has to stay behind with me while Ty and Blake go out with their Dad. He really hates to be left behind and this particular day he tried so hard to get himself ready so he could go too! Just look at him wearing his Daddy's shoes :) Poor thing!

Anyhow, I hope you all had a great weekend! Thanks again for stopping by today!

My Mind's Eye Blog Challenge

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. I've been mass producing layouts with Queen and Company's magic line for their board program. I need 90 of my "I'm All Ears" layouts finished up pretty soon here. It is a lot of work and has kept me super busy. Still, I found a moment to squeeze in this layout for the My Mind's Eye blog challenge. I saw a sketch up on their blog and knew I wanted to do it instantly. It has a very layered look--and anyone familiar with my style knows I love to layer:

This layout uses their lovely Be Loved line and is about the surprise Valentines my boys gave to me this past Valentine's Day. Here is the journaling:

"Your dad and I agreed we would skip gifts for each other this Valentine’s Day, and instead spend the money on a nice date night for us later. So imagine my surprise when on Valentine’s Day morning you sweet boys woke me up by bringing me a few of my favorite treats. Apparently your dad quickly ran you boys into the store while I thought you were waiting for me to do some shopping. It was a really fun treat! I had no idea your dad could be so sneaky! So thanks to you boys and your dad for a very fun surprise! 2-14-10"

Here is a little close up of the details:

So that is all for today...now back to my work table to finish up all these layouts! I'm nearly done, but I'm kind of out of steam at this point. Hopefully tonight I'll have them all done and all this stuff will no longer be filling up my working space:
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Last of my Queen and Company Projects

Okay, here is a much larger share of my booth work for Queen and Company's CHA winter releases. You saw that they released 3 new paper lines, but they also released lots of other great embellishments in lots of other themes. Wendy had the DT members work with monochromatic color schemes to show the other new products. I had the opportunity to work with the Graduation, Mother's day, and Wedding themes. Here is a look at what I came up with:
First Graduation--and yes that is me, about 12 years ago :)
Then a Mother's Day Layout. This one is about how Ty is always saying I'm the best mom ever. Not true, but I do love to hear him say it! Wonder how long that will last? :)
And a wedding layout and card:
And that's all for my CHA projects!
Thanks again for stopping by!

Wish I were at the Zoo

Who am I kidding--most days it feels like I do live at the zoo :) My 3 boys have me running around in crazy circles most days and I even fondly refer to Spencer as "my little monkey" on a daily basis. And truly, living with him is pretty much like the way you see people with a pet Chimp in the movies. Spencer is extremely smart, non-verbal, and quite adapt at making messes. He eats us out of house and home, is loud and often makes high pitched noises, and he like to be chased. Spencer is very talented at drumming up mischief, convincing me to give in to his request for 1 more snack, and running away from me down the street while my arm are full of groceries. He is currently endearing himself to all our hearts by taking us all down my favorite adventure known as potty training. Despite all that, he is also extremely loving, cuddly, adorable, and he has me wrapped up pretty tightly around his little finger. So I suppose I'll just enjoy my time "living at the zoo" for the time being :)
Anyhow, how about a zoo themed layout and a card? Here are my projects with Queen and Company's new line, Wild Thing:

Thanks again for stopping by and have a lovely weekend!

It's Summer Time

At least I wish it was! Another wet dreary, gray day today--but it is a tad warmer! The good news is I'm posting some bright cheerful projects to make it seem like summer is a little bit closer. I am really longing for a beach trip sometime soon, and working on these projects made me wish I was back in South Padre Island! Who knows, maybe we can head south sometime during the next break from school...
Anyhow, here are my projects with Queen and Company's new Summer line:

I hope you have a great day--and thanks for stopping by!

New Queen and Company

Well, apparently today is just not my day. Both Punxsutawney Phil and Texas' Big Al declared that there will be 6 more weeks of Winter. Pooh. I'm not a fan of winter. Thankfully here in Texas, Spring really is just right around the corner. Hopefully it will show up soon and chase away these cold, dreary, gray skies we have had the past few days.
Anyhow, as promised here is a little look at the new "Magic" line from Queen and Co for this past CHA. We love Disneyland here at our house, and I had a good time flipping through photos of past trips for this project. Good memories there! Hopefully we can hit up Disney World soon as we now live a lot closer to Florida than California!
First off a little card:
And here is my layout with this line:
Don't you just love that Queen is doing patterned paper now too? I love it and it reminds me a little of one of my favorite paper manufactures that recently went under: Scenic Route. Maybe I can use these papers to fulfill the void left when they closed up shop.
Check back soon for my projects with Queen and Company's new Summer line!
