How about some cards and sketches?

It has been awhile since I posted some scrapbook related stuff, so let me make up for it today! I've been wanting to post some sketches I did for Scrapbooks.com for a while now. These are from their blog from last year--they were used for their monthly contest. I'm just posting the first set of ten for now, but I'll post more of them over the next few posts, just keep an eye out for them. And feel free to use them however you like, submit with them, post them to your own blog/gallery etc. I really don't mind any form of personal use of them. Just please don't claim to have created them yourself :)

Oh and a P.S. for those of you who asked where the field of bluebonnets was from the last post--there is a HUGE field right behind the Walmart in Brenham. The Walmart is on the southeast side of the 290/36 intersection as you go into Brenham. Perfect place to take pictures--very safe as you are far away from the highway and very few fire ants :) Which is always good! We just parked behind Walmart.

Only A Few Summer Dates Left--edited only one spot left

Just a heads up for those who want a summertime photo session. I am almost completely full. Currently I only have 2 weeks still available (and I only schedule 1 session per week): - - - - - - - -Edit: Both spot have been taken I'll start booking for September 2009 on May 15th- - - - - - - - - I'll start booking for September/October in about a month for those waiting 'til the summer heat starts to cool down. And since I can't do a post without photos here are some from last Friday. We drove out to the Bluebonnet fields and had a picnic and photoshoot. The Bluebonnets were not as tall as last year, and yet they were still beautiful! This field is so huge and completly thick with them--so pretty! I'm so glad we made the trip! These were all taken with my 50mm 1.8 lens just before sunset. I took a whole bunch, but these are the only ones I've had time to edit. More to come once I find the time (haha-could be awhile!).

Halloween in April

Yeah, I know this was over 5 months ago, but better late than never, right? I needed to get these photos printed for an assignment recently, so that reminded me that I really ought to get these photos up on my blog as well. Especially since Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love the colors (orange is my favorite color), the whimsy of little monsters, goblins, witches, spiders, bats, and pumpkins; the fun of dressing up my boys, carving pumpkins, and the anticipation of the candy and fun to come.

We carved pumpkins with my parents a few nights before Halloween. This was my first time carving pumpkins with a pattern and it was really fun--it helped us to step out of out pumpkin carving box a little :)

They looked even cooler once we lit them up!I saved the seeds in order to try something new--Candied pumpkin seeds! Roasted, then sugared and spiced in a skillet--Yummmm!

And here is a look at the costumes from this past year. Ty was very excited to be a Transformer--Optimus Prime to be exact. Transformers have been very popular at our house lately--Blake even had a Transformers themed birthday party last September. (Which is another event I still need to blog about.)

For Spencer, I found the cutest little dragon costume that I just loved--it was so cute. Spencer on the other hand hated it. He cried and screamed every time I tried to put it on him. I have no idea why he disliked so much, maybe because is was a tad on the small side for him? Maybe the large tail dragging behind him was annoying? I don't know. I was just glad he wore it long enough to calm down and let me take a few photos.

Once he had it on for a bit, he didn't mind it much. And once he started to get candy, everything was again right with the world--annoying costume or not.

Blake just had to be Buzz Lightyear. He LOVED the Buzz ride at Disneyland when we went earlier in the month. We went on that ride over and over during our trip, and a set of Toy Story figures was the souvenir the boys picked out to remember our trip by.

I think we went on this ride several times a day almost every day of our trip--it is a great ride and it so cool they let you email your picture to yourself at the end of the ride!

Golf Course With A View

Sorry for the long delay in posts, but we had just about every sickness under the moon come and visit us recently. Now I'm digging out from under all the things that piled up during that time. I have a bunch of photo shoots to show on the blog and some scrapbooking too...just give me couple more days to post those. For now enjoy these photos I took last night while we explored a new place to play disc golf. The view was perfect!

Love for Daddy

Well, I thought things were getting better around here, but now Spencer and I are enjoying our turn at being sick. I guess I am over due as it has been a year or 2 since I was really sick, however, that thought doesn't comfort me much at the moment. Instead I'll just think back on a fun bright spot in an otherwise yucky week last week. As I mentioned in my last post, Ty missed his Valentines party at school. Not really a big deal, but he had been counting down the days til the party for some time. I felt bad that he was going to miss it, so we decided to have a party of our own on Friday. We started out by creating some surprise Valentines for dad and then driving them down to the the high school and decorating Marc's car while he worked. The boys were so excited to surprise their dad! Here are a few pictures of their amazing works of art: I was proud of Ty! He wrote the sentiment all by himself--zero help from me--and for Ty, that is quite an achievement! Blake liked the stickers best: Spencer didn't seem too think much of his. I coaxed him into holding his for a moment and scribbling a little, but that was the extent of his interest in the activity. He might have enjoyed decorating the car more, but he fell asleep on the way down to the school. After surprising Daddy we went home and decorated the house. We had hearts and balloons everywhere for a few hours! Very fun! We topped the night off with a special "breakfast for dinner" complete with heart shaped pancakes with red syrup, pink milk, and a giant heart shaped chocolate chip cookie for dessert. I didn't take any photos of our special dinner, but here is a little something I whipped up earlier in the month, just in case any of you doubt my domestic skills ;) It really was a fun day--even Ty seemed content despite the change in plans for him!

A Loooong Week At Our House--And Some More Newborn Pictures

Well, I didn't get as much done this week as I had hoped. Ty came down with the flu on Monday and later tested positive for Strep throat. He missed school all week--including his class picture and his class Valentines day party. Poor thing...at least he is doing much better now and can go back to school on Monday. Blake seemed to catch a milder version of what Ty had, and he too is starting to do better now. So far no one else has got it so I'll keep crossing my fingers that it stays that way and the worst has passed. I didn't get much sleep at the beginning of the week and I can tell my body is starting to make up for that now. Despite the all the craziness of this past week I did get a little bit of photo editing in. This session isn't done yet (Sorry Stacey)--but I'm getting close. Here is a little sneak peek for you while you wait: I also loved the first one in color--I couldn't decide which way was better. Happy friday night everyone!

Well, I figured since I have already showed pages from Marisa and Ethan's wedding album, I also ought to show a handful of her bridals. I loved doing these! How could I not with a bride as stunning as Marisa?
